Note: Open Enrollment is November 1 – December 15, 2018

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma:
BCBSOK will continue to offer individual medical plans on- and off-marketplace in Oklahoma in 2019. They discontinued the Blue Preferred Silver PPO 101 plan, but those currently insured by that plan will be mapped to a new plan, and have until February 28, 2019 to select a different plan if they don’t want the mapped plan. BCBS added five plans to their 2019 individual portfolio, including two new HDHP/HSA plans.

NEW carrier: Medica:
Medica entered the Oklahoma market to offer marketplace plans in 2019. We’re still evaluating the coverage and price, but don’t anticipate these plans will be significantly better or less expensive than what’s currently available. One advantage that stands out is that St John is in-network.

United HealthCare:
If you have a grandfathered plan with United HealthCare, you should be able to continue it in 2019.

Community Care:
As far as we know, Community Care may continue to offer PPO and HMO plans in 2019 on a limited basis. Online enrollment is not available, and plans are not available through agents.

Other:
There are many non-ACA compliant options out there such as medi-share, short-term medical, accident, and critical illness. Be sure you understand what they are, and what they do and don’t cover. For short-term medical and limited benefit plan quotes, contact our office.
